During a recent visit to Finland my family introduced me to Nordic Walking. It was an invigorating experience! Nordic walking is a combination of cross country skiing and fitness walking using poles made of composite similar to skiing poles. Nordic Walking began in Finland as a training exercise for cross country skiers and has recently taken off as a Europe wide exercise regimen.
After my experience I returned to the US with...

Feelmax Sponsors Markus Niemelä
Markus Niemelä drives BMW-ADAC –championship with Team Rosberg.
Niemelä is going to participate in highly valued German formula BMW-ADAC –championship in season 2005. Finn drives one of the cars of Team Rosberg. Niemelä’s aim is to fight for the championship victory already in his depute season.
“Support and encouragement from Feelmax helped me forward.
Feelmax believed my talents as I believed for Feelmax.
Co-operation from carting time continues…”
I am genuinely happy with Feelmax toe socks and I can recommend them to anybody. Toe socks have become part of my every day clothing. I have worked with Feelmax Ltd. since 2001, and they have helped me to progress my career. In general I have a very positive and warm image of Feelmax as a company.
Whenever needed they provided flexibility and helped me when I needed it.
Last year for example Feelmax organised Austrian born UK based Sports Psychologist Sabine Tyrvainen (peakcon.com) to help me with improving focus and mental toughness. I will fly to England next week and meet up with her again for 3 days and prepare myself to be ready for the coming season. We will do extensive concentration exercises with the use of a new technology from USA called “Peak Achievement Trainer”.
I use Feelmax toe socks when racing but also during my leisure time, even while sleeping. They are especially beneficial for doing sports. My training program involves lots of different sports. No matter if I ski, run, do weight training, balance training or play badminton, my feet stay dry throughout the training. The benefits of dry feet include not only a more comfortable feeling but I also realised that the risk of getting ill is minimised by not having to put up with wet socks, no matter how hard I train. My toes don’t get blisters when wearing toe socks, because each toe has its own “pocket” like a glove, which keeps toes from rubbing and formation of blisters.
- Winter tests went already really good. Now when I got a place in such a good team, winning the championship is a realistic goal. I am really looking forward to the beginning of the season, Niemelä says.
- I drove tests with Team Rosberg on five different tracks. I managed to beat some of the top drivers of the season 2004 and I also did some lap times that would have been on pole position last year. My goal was to get signed by Team Rosberg because I felt myself immediately like home with them and the atmosphere during the tests was such good, Niemelä tells.
20 years old finn has been racing before this season in karting and in formula Ford. Highlights of his career by this far are 5th position in karting World Championship 2003, two Finnish championship victories in karting plus Swedish and Finnish chamionship victories in formula Ford last year.
- We have long term goals with my back-up –group. Winning the BMW-ADAC –championship would definetely help me forward in my career. Next year we are trying to get in formula 3. My final goal is naturally Formula 1, Niemelä says.
Niemelä was nominated last year as a Young Champion by Finnish ASN, AKK-Motorsport.
Rosberg: ”exeptional talent”
Team owner Keke Rosberg was following Niemelä during winter tests and has seen complete test reports. Rosberg is happy to get Niemelä in his team.
- Markus is really talented, exeptionally talented fellow. It was also our interest to get him in our team. He surprised us in a very positive way in the tests, Rosberg tells.
- I would believe that he is able to drive for the championship victory already in his first year, which is also exeptional. Signs are good. Markus also understand that harder you work, better result you get, Rosberg adds.
German formula BMW-ADAC –championship starts in April. There is 20 races in the championship and it is good championship for young drivers to show their potential: 18 of 20 races are being held together with DTM and 2 of them with Formula 1.
